A recent ranking from Sports Business Daily listed the top markets for minor league teams and Gwinnett ranked as the 40th best market. More than 240 markets were included in the report. Cities containing a major league team were excluded from the list.
Gwinnett has three minor league teams, the Braves, Gladiators and Georgia Force. The Gwinnett Braves are the AAA affiliate for the Major League Atlanta team competing in the International League. The Gwinnett Gladiators are a AA hockey team in the East Coast Hockey League. The Georgia Force represents Gwinnett in the Arena Football League.
Each market was ranked on three separate factors: Tenure, attendance and economy. Gwinnett ranked as the second highest attendance market and seventh highest economy. The only category that weighed down Gwinnett was tenure, which accounted for almost two-thirds of the overall ranking.

Wow, Atlanta really is the epitome of a sports town. The last time I was there I went to see a Braves game, it was one of the best baseball games I’ve ever been to (and I went to TONS of games when I lived in NY).
